MY PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Background & Expertise

January 2019 - To Date

NOTETAKER AT LEGAL ADVICE SESSIONS, KENT LAW CLINIC

Note-taking on the legal facts, issues and advice given by local Solicitors which I feedback to a clinic Solicitor, this has enhanced my legal understanding by considering why particular advice was given. If the clinic decides to provide further guidance or offer to take a case on, I am invited to sit in on the phone call to the clients. These sessions have greatly enhanced my confidence when communicating with members of the public as I am often alone with clients whilst the Solicitors are preparing themselves.

September 2018 - May 2019

VOLUNTEER RECEPTIONIST, KENT LAW CLINIC

I am the first point of contact for potential cases. This requires me to be informative and empathetic when handling sensitive and confidential information. I need to have precision and accuracy when taking notes which are later referred to the Solicitor and be systematic in the filing of cases with an ability to prioritise with follow up calls and letters.

August 2018 - August 2018

WORK EXPERIENCE, CHARTERED INSTITUTE OF BUILDING, BRACKNELL

I rotated through various departments including, legal, policy, marketing, membership and education. I was involved in misrepresentation cases within the legal department, investigating cases of logo mis-use against the CIOB and preparing correspondence for the Professional Conducts Committee.

WORK EXPERIENCE

WAITRESS

Royal Berkshire Hotel, Sunninghill

My role encompasses running the restaurant independently; setting up, serving, and clearing tables to deadlines. I am one of the key waitresses within the team at weddings and conferences, also serving at the fast-paced bar.

Ascot Swim School

SWIMMING TEACHER

Ascot Swim School, Ascot

I am a qualified swimming instructor and I was a qualified NPLQ lifeguard. I taught swimming skills to classes of up to 7 children of various ages. This meant being approachable and sensitive to the children's fears and anxieties to ensure they felt comfortable in their abilities and able to learn. This helped me improve my communication and time management by ensuring the safety of the students and provide an efficient lesson within half an hour.

SALES ASSISTANT

Bentalls, Bracknell

I worked in the busy Toys and Luggage department, two of the busiest departments in the store.  This required me to be quick thinking, composed, and personable. I was involved with the merchandising of the products requiring in-depth knowledge of all the stock. I was expected to offer technical advice on the most appropriate luggage for each customer's needs which required identifying the importance of relevant information in order to sell effectively.
